Memphis, TN

I'm obsessed with this picture. I want to tattoo it on my arm.
Next stop Memphis!
I'm sure there are amazing sites to see in Memphis but I only had three on my mind.
Martin Luther King Jr, Elvis Presley, and BBQ

Due to the late hour of our arrival into Memphis and the in-climate weather I didn't think it a great idea to go searching for the assassination site of Martin Luther King Jr.

It's on my list for next time.
Definitely a great topic of conversation for the long car ride and an important part of U.S. history to talk to the kids about and reflect on ourselves. Sorry to have missed it.

I'm starting to get a little complex though because I also missed out on visiting the grassy knoll when we were in Dallas.
I'm not a morbid person who really wants to visit famous murder sites.
I'm not.

We missed out on Texas BBQ in favor of our children's sanity but today is Mommy's choice.

Marlowe's served up yummy pork BBQ with all the fixin's. My favorites were the rolls and corn fritters
.The kids homemade mac and cheese was delish as well.

The restaurant was littered with Elvis paraphernalia, which was a must for me to get a cliche Memphis experience.

They even have a pink limo that will drive you to and from your hotel free of charge!
Sounds fun!

Teaching Grace how to Elvis

She's got it!

I should buy him these glasses. Hot!

Luckily the home of the King was just down the street from dinner.
It was closed but we enjoyed it from the road.
It looked great all lit up for Christmas.
